on May Day celebration

Dears Friends

I have just come back from Iraq ten days ago and was living in Baghdad. It is the most dangerous city in the world at this time and has not seen in its entire history such a brutal situation, not even in the eras of the barbarian wars of Howlacko and Genghis Khan. Seven million human beings live in fear of indescribable dangerous war. A country in which more than 27 million people live under the Islamists swords, bombs, Apache helicopters, huge armies, random killings, and a genocide, a sect against another and a tribe against another. The kidnappings of children and women and the slaughter of school teachers in front of their pupils’ eyes, and the random explosions and bombings of residential areas with mortar shells and the destruction of cities and extermination of its peoples, all have become a daily routine for every Iraqi.

Tens of prisons across Iraq and each party have its own militia, prisons, and regions of influence. The living standard of the majority of people is under poverty line, a lack of social services from clean drinking water to electricity. Security became a remote wish for most of the people. This happened as a result to a war that was launched under the name of " liberation of Iraq "  and the “spreading of democracy " and the rescue of Iraqis from the dictator’s hands and other empty slogans which became a matter of disgust and sarcasm to Iraqis.

The war that transferred Iraq into a confrontation field, the war between America and its allies from one side, and Political Islam from another, is a war to guarantee America’s leadership of the world. This is the New World Order, and this is the real "democracy". This war brought the most reactionary forces in the region to power and gave them power, and divided the Iraqi people into tribes and sects. It started to define people according to their national, ethnic and religious identities and to retreat society back to the pre Middle Ages era. This so-called “beautiful Mosaic!" is the alternative of the New World Order, and this is "the democracy" which has become their remedy for every disease. We can not understand this democracy but through this contemporary concept.

What is the solution and what is to be done to salvage the society out of this tragedy?. We in the Left Worker-communist Party of Iraq have had our first conference last month in Iraq. We have said that socialism is the solution, the building of a communist political party which struggles for socialism is the solution, secularism and civility is the mandate of socialists. We have presented our clear strategy for the salvation of the Iraqi people. There is no other political power in the political arena which calls for civility and secularism. All international and local bourgeoisies are participant in the destruction of the society and in creating this hell in Iraq that we call the Dark scenario.

I have read the May Day declaration of WPI entitled "socialism now ". I am 100% in agreement with this alternative, because there is no other way, the bourgeois alternative is barbarity and Dark Scenario and the drowning of people in bloodsheds and wars. We the working class should present our alternative. Until when do we go out in the streets and bring the capitalism close to its death but then return home empty-handed?!. There are many experiences. The workers have many struggles and they have "conquered the heavens" many times before in their history of struggle but did not reap the fruits. Raising the socialist alternative and put Marx back into the battle field is a matter of life or death and it is the only way for getting results.

May Day must be a day of socialism. Those who shrug their shoulders and say that the working class is not ready to accept this alternative are in fact those who are not ready to accept this alternative. Those who say that we live in the Dark Scenario and that we must be realistic and that “you should not speak about socialism now”, are actually those who want to join the Dark Scenario camp.

I call upon workers leaders where ever they are, and we have some of them present at this room, to raise this alternative as a class alternative and to build Worker-Communist Parties, the likes of Lenin's and Mansoor hekmat’s parties. We went into the inside of one of the most dangerous countries and walked through mine fields and managed to establish such a party in order to save people from the Dark Scenario and for socialism. We are totally convinced that without such alternative there would be no salvation for humanity from the barbarity and arrogance of capitalism.

On behalf of the Iraqi working class and the Left Worker-communist Party of Iraq I congratulate you in this occasion and call on you to support our party and our class in Iraq both morally and materially for the cause of complete deliverance and for the building of a society free of classes and tyranny .

We declare our support to the struggles of the working class all over the world and consider it our own, and we yearn to build international strong ties with all who struggle for a better world and put an end to capitalism.
